It is a much, much better place to work and a better time to be in this industry than ever before in our history.”
–Susan Marjetti
Executive Director of Radio and Audio for CBC Susan Marjetti has worked for over 35 years in radio. She describes her own frustrating experiences getting a foothold in the radio business, such as the time she had shipped her belongings across the country to become the executive producer of a show, only to be told at the last minute that the male host of the show refused to “work for a woman” so the job offer was rescinded. Nowadays, as a hiring manager at CBC, Susan says that women do not have a harder time getting on air or management jobs in radio.
